FAQ #2: Mish Girl "isms"

To clarify some of Mish Girl's "isms" and general missionary lingo:

Ad = "hell," in Russian

comp = companion, or in other words, the other half of the missionary duo

p-day = Preparation Day; the one day a week when missionaries can write home, do laundry, sightsee, etc...

bab = babushka

District = the combined missionaries in any given area, usually about 6 or more

Zone = the combined districts in any given area, usually 3 or more

Cectpa = "Sister" in Russian, as in "Cectpa Sosyak"

Sister & Elder = What missionaries are known by during their missions. First names are not used, just Sister or Elder and their last names

AP = Assistant to the President; there are usually two of these, a companionship, who assist the mission president, helping oversee the spiritual and physical workings and needs of the missionaries and the mission itself

basic mission hierarchy: missionary - district leader - zone leader - AP - Mission President
